Tondo is made from patinated bronze in resin containing deep relief representations of the names of artists used to create a modern historical canon. Milow here explores our relationship to art history but here through specific artists. Are these artists related outside of an organised canon and if so do we need a context in order to read their work correctly?

Milow is a sculptor, painter and printmaker. Considered one of the most important artists of his generation, Milow's works have been described as often a 'cross between painting and sculpture'. First gaining prominence in the 1970s his work has contained, at various stages, mathematical, Constructivist and architectural references, particularly Graeco-Roman classicism and Western cultural tradition.
